We are so thankful to have found Emma as a tutor for our son who has ASC.

She adapts her sessions so seamlessly dependent on our sons mood /willingness (PDA) and is able to incorporate whatever his latest interest is at the drop of a hat.

We see Emma daily due to our son's EOTAS package and her knowledge/level of delivery goes above and beyond a tutor. She is like a tutor, SALT, OT and play therapist rolled into a single patient and caring package.

Lucky you if you are able to get some of her precious time.

Our son really enjoys his lessons - he is engaged and his confidence increases each week. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

SENDCO

Dyslexia Beds has run our EAA assessments for our students for a number of years and always makes the process so efficient.

Emma is knowledgeable, organised, and has a natural rapport with the students which puts them at ease.

I felt I must leave a review...

Emma was so professional and knowledgeable with my 16 year old daughter.  We have had a tough couple of years and had found if difficult to find support (the right support) to help her.  As parents we were striving for academic miracles and were unaware of the craters of missed education.

Irrespective of any exam results, Emma has worked wonders with raising my daughters belief in herself and confidence to try.  I cannot thank Emma enough for recognising and helping us to understand that achievements are not always in the conventional GCSE way.

I would absolutely recommend Emma - I contacted her about my daughter and she explained the assessment process clearly and was really accommodating. My daughter felt at ease with Emma and enjoyed the assessment. Following the assessment Emma kept me informed about the progress of the report and we received it in a timely manner. The report itself was very in-depth and outlined clear recommendations which was very useful.

If you are looking for a tutor - look no further than Emma.  Couldn't recommend enough.

Emma has worked with my daughter for a number of years now and has been such a consistent support to her in her education and her confidence.

We never have any complaints about going to tutoring, which in itself speaks volumes.

I am so pleased I had the dyslexia assessment with Emma, she was really approachable, patient and kind. She took time with each of the practicals and made it a really comfortable environment to be in.  She helped me to understand why I struggle with some aspects of school work, which I found really reassuring.  School have read the report and are now following her advice which I'm really pleased about.

Denni

I needed some help with general reading, spelling and grammar to give me confidence to apply for a new job.

Emma is amazing in her ability to make you feel comfortable and take things back to basics without it feeling demeaning.

Thanks to Emma's support I secured a new job but have kept up with sessions to help me to improve my understanding of complicated grammar!

Definitely recommend.

I love coming to see Emma.  She make's it fun. It's not like school.

adult assessment

After years and years of embarrassment and with the prompt from Jay Blades on TV.  I decided to look into the possibility that I may be dyslexic.

I was apprehensive of the test process as my reading and spelling is not at a level you would expect from someone of my age.  Emma made the whole process so relaxed and explained every step, before, during and after the assessment.

I am now able to understand why some things have been difficult over the years and am working with Emma to improve my reading.

She's a treasure.

SENDCO

We required some support from a professional to help an ASD student develop literacy skills.  Emma visited for twice weekly sessions over 3 terms and the progress made surpassed all expectations.

It fine example of how specialist teaching is needed.

adult student

I have always had a negative experience with maths but needed to gain a functional skills qualification to access the next stage of my training.

Dyslexia Beds was great at explaining and using physical objects to help me to understand before we worked on practice questions.

I am a very happy student nurse.

James

Being an adult returning to study (with dyslexia) was daunting but with Emma's patience and ability to break things down, I feel more able to deal with the course demands.

Liam ~ Student (EOTAS) 16+

I wish I'd have met Emma sooner.

Math Teacher ~ Redborne Upper School

** is more confident in lessons because he is more confident in the basics and he is like a different student compared to the autumn term. I  cannot quite believe the level of positive impact this has had.

We had been on this journey for awhile but kept hitting dead ends with not much backing from the school. Emma was quick to put us at ease and was kind and understanding from the outset. There is lots of information to gather before the assessment but Emma explained everything. She made my daughter feel relaxed and comfortable during the assessment and completed the report and answered any questions we had quickly. As a result of the diagnosis and the suggestions given to help my daughter learn, we have seen a big improvement in her grades but most importantly, her confidence in her own ability has grown too. Thank you so much.

(EOTAS +16)

Thank you so much for your report - I've read many, many reports over the years to secure ** educational provision - so It was brilliant to read a report that was specific and quantified!

** was relieved to confirm her suspicions, which is a huge step for her as she now views a diagnosis as opening doors for support.

workplace assessment

Emma's services and recommendations  were invaluable in helping us to provide the correct support to our new member of the team.  We have developed our understanding of dyslexia and have made changes in our practise that work for everyone.

Amazing!

After years of ignorance and phonic intervention at school. with little improvement - a few months with Emma and she is reading pretty hard words. We  are astounded at how quickly this has turned around - it just seems to have clicked into place with the right teacher.

Thank you is not enough

Dyslexia Bedfordshire has been fantastic from start to finish. From first communication to delivery of the report. Emma, was amazing with my son and made him feel at ease at the start of the assessment and throughout. He never felt pressured and was given reassurance and an opportunity to take breaks. He found it to be a positive experience. I would definitely recommend using Emma's services.

I cannot recommend Emma highly enough!

Emma is full of imaginative ideas and shows a very creative approach, as well as reflecting her extensive experience.

SENDCO ~ Fulbrook

Emma runs sessions for 15 pupils which she targets to their specific area of need.

I cannot recommend Emma highly enough.  She is extremely knowledgeable and professional.  Her sessions have proved invaluable for both pupils and staff.  Emma actively works with staff at Fulbrook to support pupils' learning beyond her sessions and has offered advice to the SEND team regarding assessment and access arrangements in our transition to a secondary school.

Parent ~ EOTAS

Couldn't recommend Emma highly enough.  We were so lucky to find someone as patient and understanding to provide English and Math lessons for our daughter (ASD, Anxiety, ADHD).

Gemma ~ parent

Emma was fantastic, she was so helpful, very professional and would definitely recommend her to anyone else needing to get their child/children assessed . It was easy to contact Emma, she gave us her availability, easy to book, the pre-assessment forms were easy to fill out. Emma explained to us how long the tests would take to do on the assessment day and my son felt very relaxed with her. Once it was ready for us to receive the results, Emma contacted us by telephone to discuss the report before it was sent over to us to read through, she was also happy to contact the school if we needed here too.
